Our priorities
We play an active and crucial role in the delivery of effective healthcare in Scotland and support excellence in health and healthcare through partnership and expertise. Our main aim is to work towards delivering services that are always responsive to our stakeholders' requirements, represent value for money and are delivered to the highest professional standards. Our six main priorities are to:
- provide direct care to patients
- protect the public
- promote long-term health improvement
- provide health risk management
- provide information to clinicians, the public and the Scottish Government
- deliver efficiency and cost-effectiveness in NHS Scotland
