Delivering the Race Equality Duties

Working at the very heart of the health service, NHS National Services Scotland delivers services critical to frontline patient care and in support of the efficient and effective operation of NHS Scotland.

Our staff are fully committed to delivering the Duties laid down in the Equality Act 2010 which are to; eliminate unlawful racial discrimination, promote equality of opportunity, and promote good relations between people of different racial groups. Our work with race equality since 2002 has been directed at ensuring all our policies, functions and service delivery aspects have been impact-assessed, and plans delivered to ensure that BME communities in Scotland receive the best service from us.
