We support the daily business of the NHS by producing statistical information and analysis that helps NHSScotland make the right decisions for patients.
Since the start of the NHS, staff who provide care or treatment have collected data about patients in order to provide better care. As Scotland's national organisation for health information and statistics, we have led the collection and analysis of that data for almost 40 years.
We develop new and innovative information to support NHS Health Boards to treat patients. Our products and services are used for a wide range of purposes, from driving down waiting times, to supporting patient safety initiatives, to allowing clinicians to refine their patient care.
Scotland has some of the best health service data in the world. As a producer of official statistics, we adhere to the UK Code of Practice and relevant legislation, ensuring our statistics are of the highest quality.
