National Procurement
National Procurement (NP) is NHSScotland's centre of procurement expertise, established as part of the wider procurement reform activity across the Scottish Public Sector.
Our mission is to increase savings and maximise health input whilst improving supply chain effectiveness and procurement capability.
Through our Logistics, Sourcing, eProcurement and Programme Management teams we have ensured that the combined buying power of NHSScotland has delivered savings to date of over £150 million that can be reinvested back into front line patient care.
We deliver our benefits through:
- Establishing national contracts for a wide range of goods and services
- Delivering a range of medical consumables from our National Distribution Centre supported by a dedicated customer services team
- Implementing enhanced business processes and systems including the eProcurement Scotland programme
- Advising and supporting NHS Health Boards and the wider public sector in Scotland on how smarter procurement on goods and services can save public money
To guarantee the continued delivery of our benefits we work in close collaboration with our Health Board colleagues across NHSScotland.
