How NHS national boards support the wider NHS in Scotland

The NHS in Scotland has a different organisational structure to other parts of the UK. There are 14 local NHS boards which are responsible for all the hospital and primary care services in their area. The local NHS boards are, in turn, supported by the eight national boards which provide a full range of national services.
